PhillyPA Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Just following up on my 6 year old son who was spitting out his food. He had a CaM score of 136 (Cunningham test). As soon as he starting spitting out his food he was on an antibiotic within 24 hours. He was put on steroids one week later. It has been about three weeks since it all started and he is doing so much better. Started eating most solids again. Back to building legos. All seems good. The only reason he was treated so quickly is because my other son has PANDAS. It just goes to show what early detection and treatment can do. Thank God for Dr. Latimer.

Kayanne Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 So Happy!!! I agree that early detection is really key here!! As you know, we've have great success with steroids and antibiotics -- and my daughter's case was caught and treated early! Dr. L said that she doesn't see why this can't be managed with steroids...they do it for asthma. Thanks for sharing the update!
