IVIG update

Today was long but we made it through a 7.5 hour infusion with no complications. The IV was inserted only one time and my son did not even blink. He was a real champ. I am so proud of him. We are at hotel now and fixing to have some dinner. I guess you can say we are enjoying the calm before the storm. Hopefully the side effects will not be too bad. I gave him predinose this morning and gave him Motrin when we arrived at hotel. When do the side effects typically kick in?

we dont get side effects but it seems others do within a day

 

So glad it went well you did the 2g right

my 100lb dd had 40mg prednisone and 400mg motrin on each day of infusion and had NO side effects on those days. Good luck!

Yes, he had 2g. It was a very slow drip . It nice to hear not everyone gets side effects

Glad yours went well- now we watch and wait! Ours was good today as well.....He got a headache but I gave him Tylenol and then prednisone and he seems better- he just went to sleep!

We don't get side effects, either. Your experience is good news, especially since our next IVIG in August, will be a one day infusion. Hope there is no storm following your calm!
