saidie10 Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 might need a straight jacket by the end of the day between the two of em, i got some slightly demonic children over here! just sayin
Phasmid Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 One thing that DOES help my boy (once I can get him to leave the house!) is exercise. I tire him out playing tennis, and he takes a martial arts class where he can direct this type of energy in a positive way. Sustained exercise increases natural endorphins (i'm sure you know all this already) which are "feel good" hormones. I try to do this kind of activity early in the day, like mid morning, so that there is some lasting effects throughout the day. But, getting him out the door is a task in itself, and tires ME out! Also, starting the morning with a protein breakfast makes a big difference in his mood later. Hope the day improves for you all.
airial95 Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 It must be something in the water...we had quite the rough day too!
bgbarnes Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 might need a straight jacket by the end of the day between the two of em, i got some slightly demonic children over here! just sayin IT was not horrible but it was NOT normal- the meltdown was short the defiance- moderate but I think it had more to do with me managing my expectations of how the say was going to be.....For my rough and tumble boy to talk like a baby all day is sweet- but just not right! Brandy OMG Brandy, my 5 year old talked like a baby ALL day in choppy short little baby sentences. I couldn't say it better...cute for about two seconds, then you want your normal 5 year old back!
tantrums Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 I'm with you all. I'm actually hiding in here on the computer while DH deals with the breakdown that started about 30 minutes ago I don't get it! He's freaked out bc of a scrape on his leg. It keeps getting oozy again from playing in the water. Freaks him out because it looks worse. Won't let me DARE put anything on it. So he wants to stay out of the water. Now having a fit bc he isn't in the water.... Is it almost bedtime?

My kids were with their Dad today and I just was quiet and did things by myself, no talking- no decisions nothing- my hubby wanted me to do all these activities and I just wanted silence and peace- it was WONDERFUL!!!! I miss my kdis when they are gone but after yesterday I needed a day off! Hope your day got better!
