justinekno Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 We have an appt in a couple of weeks with Dr. B. This will be my son's first appt with him. For those who have seen Dr. B., did you do anything special in terms of providing info/lab results to him prior to the first visit? I am wondering if he is receptive to an email ahead of time with all of the information and if he responds.

bronxmom2 Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 can't you just make the appointment with the receptionist or whoever is answering the phone?
justinekno Posted May 27, 2010 Author Report Posted May 27, 2010 I made the appt through the receptionist but initally she asked to call me back and when I didn't hear back in a few hours, I called again. She said they are extrememly busy right now with calls and apologized for not getting back to me sooner. can't you just make the appointment with the receptionist or whoever is answering the phone?
memom Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 I guess it really depends on how far you are traveling from. We had a 5 hour drive each way and so I asked if we could get labwork done at a local lab and have the results for our first appointment. If you are close, I would actually suggest just showing up with a good history of your childs healthand vaccine history, and allow him to make decisions at that time what he will want for lab draw. I was also in a position where I knew we were dealing with Pandas already so really wanted his insight around the immunologic piece of our puzzle given my dd17 health and her response to the first steps for treatment. The labwork takes a while to come back as for most labs it is what is termed a send out (local labs send to Mayo clinic in another state to be processed). You would not have time to get the labwork back if your appointment is so soon. Just go and enjoy the visit. He will direct you. Ellie memom
bronxmom2 Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 I agree, he will order some extensive blood work that takes time to get back... maybe you could call the office and ask them to order the tests before you go, so he will have the results when you meet?
