So sad and scared today...I am more worried about DS5 today

Hi everyone. I am heartbroken today. DS5 who has had some funny finger movements since his last strep infection in February is acting so psychotic the last two days. He also tested positive for strep this past Tuesday and he is like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde for the last two days. He won't let me out of his sight, he even wants me to go to the restroom with him every time he goes which he has NEVER asked me to do. We are at my Mom and Dad's for Mothers Day and I was going for a run this morning and he did not want me to go and even asked me if Nana and Pops knew how to get to our house in San Marcos and I said why? and he said in case you don't come home. He is angry and frustrated and throwing outrageous fits. I am really beside myself and more concerned about him right now than I am about DS7 who we have been trying to get a diagnosis on.

 

I think I need to get him in for testing now. Would it be more likely for DS5 to also have PANDAS than to not have PANDAS if his brother does?

I'm so sorry to hear this! It is not at all unusual for PANDAS siblings to have PANDAS as well.

So sad to hear this. But at least IF it is PANDAS, you will have caught it on the first episode. What kind of abxs is he on? Can you ask for something stronger? Maybe try ibuprofen and see if it helps...

I'm so sorry.He needs to get to the dr for a strep test. The infection may not have cleared up in Feb. You can try to give Ibuprofen and see if that eases symptoms.
