Eye blinking kids

I'm wondering if other kids who have eye blinking tics:

- complain of their eyes bothering them from time to time

- rub their eyes

- also squint their eyes and appear to close them sometimes for a few seconds

 

I've been wondering about an allergy connection or also a "dry eyes" thing from too much antihistamine or some other eye problem. Of course that wouldn't explain away the other tics but just curious about this eye blinking one. Maybe his eyes are just tired from blinking so much!

You just described my dd 7 to a TEE! she does rub her eyes alot, and i do mostly notice it during the allergy season. so i think it is a combo of the allergies AND the fact that her eye are irritated from the blinking.

My son's eye tic is definitely related to this horrible allergy season. He is currently on nose spray and doing allergy shots. I am also watching for other triggers, like gaming and computer time. By evening/bedtime, he shuts his eyes or rubs them because his eyes are bothering him.

 

They seem to be slowing down the last 2 weeks, so I'm hoping the shots are starting to work....

Thanks you guys - I appreciate the link to the previous thread too. I have a lot to learn, especially since I'm still trying to figure out the cause of his tics (allergies or 5yo vaccines or something else). I'm so exhausted and overwhelmed.
