H Mom Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 I am a newbie and trying to learn quickly. My 12 1/2 year old was recently diagnosed with Pandas by Dr. K. He has recommended IVIG and we are going very soon. The majority of her symptoms are at home and she functions very well at school. There are been some recent posts about severe post IVIG behavior. Previously, I had assumed that the post IVIG behavior would be better, not worse. I would love to hear (good and bad) what your experiences have been post IVIG so I will have an understanding of what I might expect. I am concerned about her ability to go back to school and finish the school year post IVIG. I greatly appreciate the support of this forum.
Nita Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 My 13 year old son is apparently a lot worse than your daughter. He cannot even attend school. His post IVIG are behaviors we've seen before - it's just that I see him improve one day and the next he is horrible. I'd say good and bad behaviors - more intense. bubbasmom Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Just got my son's titers back and they have tripled since IVIG. The hemotologist says that the IVIG would be the cause. I'm waiting for other confirmation on that because he's new to the whole PANDAS thing. And of course my son's 'symptoms' have tripled as well. UGH!
