Thankyou all for your imput.

 

I am in no way trying to be contentious in the regards to vaccines. However due to my unique family history, I am looking at a genetic link. I would like you to think back to toddler days when filling in the poll. If you can remember times that you thought - thats not right - you may of had, but then it resolved. Not tantrums etc, but something that you just could not make sense of. I feel that a united parents imput can really help those Drs that want to know, and maybe that link will find a positive result.

Before I answer, for the first question, are you referring to a PANDAS reaction? Example, my son got the chicken pox rash, but it wasn't a PANDAS reaction. It occurred years prior to his first strep infection and PANDAS surfacing.

If you saw an unusual reaction after chicken pox,

 

ie, speech decline, motor skills change that was noted after

 

then I would put the CP down as your first noticed event. I'm quite new to the poll thing, but very interested to see if anyone noticed a change in development of child prior to a Strep Infection.

It wouldn't let me vote unless I picked a choice for the last one...so I picked the first...BUT my daughter didn't have any signs of Chicken Pox. She had the vaccine.

Sometimes I think I overthink my answers to polls!

 

My PANDAS son has a speech disorder that has always been present. I do not belive it was brought on by any event. My older son also has speech probelms. Started as a delay, caught up his own and now just has very minor problems. My older one is not PANDAS. I think with my daughter, I may have finally caught a break. I don't think she has a speech disorder! Yeah!

 

Oddly even with my PANDAS son, he was dx with a severe speech disoder when he had just turned 4. When he finally started speech therapy they were amazed how quickly he caught on. When PANDAS surfaced in Sept 2008, he then slowed down tremedendously in making progress with his speech. Then when he recovered, he went right back to making his goals rather quick. He's always been on target for all other milestones.
