Santi Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 My son tested positive for STREP F after an anal culture. I am trying to find out why his titers are high to rule out PANDAS. Has anyone had experience with STREP F? I am having a hard time googling it. Andrea
mama2alex Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 I looked up streptococci on Wikipedia, and under beta-hemolytic streptococci they list Group A, B, C, D and G - no F. However, when I googled "Group F Streptococcus" a number of links came up. Did you find these? What did the doctor say about it?

Its really tough getting an abnormal test result on a Sunday when nobody is around. I did manage to get a bit of info. My understanding is that STREP F is a subgroup it actually has STREP A-G within it in a milder form. I am really curious about this now. I will see Dr. Margo T Tuesday to see if it might have something to do with PANDAS. There is definetly something going on with my son and I don't think its the cause of his symptoms but I do think its exasberting them. Andrea
