How do they diagnose the difference between TS and TD?

 

TD has its own set of symptoms and is only caused by using neuroleptic (antipsychotic) drugs (such as Haldol) or atypical-neuroleptic (atypical anti-psychotic) drugs (such as Abilify).

 

There's a lot more drugs in each of those classes, though. It's not just Haldol and Abilify.

Some people say it can only occur after long term use of those medications, but other studies say that it can happen even after short term.
