Guest Guest_Karen Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 My son is 12 years old and has been diagnosed with Tourettes. He started ticking around 7 years of age. We have been treating him through a chiropractor which has really helped control his tics until now. He has been going through a spell since April with no signs of slowing down. The neurologist offers no solution in my opinion. We feel that there is definitely a connection with allergies and his symptoms. We live in the DC area and are looking for anyone who has had experience with a doctor in this area. We would like to look at the environmental issues that may be worsening his tics. If anyone can recommend someone in this area, we would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks.
Claire Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Hi Karen, Sheila Rogers has posted a list of doctors who can look at allergies among other things at the top of this forum. Many of us who couldn't find doctors on our own have been successful using that list. http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?...p?showtopic=565 Good luck! And I suggest reading the threads if you haven't, as they will give you ideas to discuss with your doctor. Claire
sherrysunshine Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 Hi Karen, I found an interesting website recently, www.drrapp.com. I don' t think Dr Rapp is in DC but might be able to offer beneficial advice re what you are seeking as her interest is in environmental concerns. Good luck! Sherry
