michele703 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I just received my son's score and it was 187. Also, just started steriods on Monday. My son is out of control! He is bouncing off the walls....aggressive......jittery, etc.... Is this to be expected? Should it get better SOON?

We did not have that reaction but it is common with steroids... make sure you give them in the morning so at least by evening he is more settled. Hang in there!
dcmom Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 My daughter has tolerated the steroids well. It has taken her at least four days to improve. I believe for some the improvement has taken longer... Hang in there!
EAMom Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 It took us a couple of weeks to see an improvement. But, some PANDAS kids can't handle the steroids...I know this was problem for Bronxmom2.
T_Mom Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Yes, bouncing off of walls/hyper-active issues, and even increased OCD issues (explaining, explaining, explaining) is what we have seen with our youngest first reactions to steroid burst. We are now in the taper stage with her and hoping, beyond hope, that it is resolving. She is better this week. We had to decide if it was worth "trying" to see if "after" there was improvement--we decided that it was worth trying. Her Cam Kinase was 181.
