BethM33 Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 My son was diagnosed 2 years ago with PANDAS, by the top Pediatric Neuro. Dr. in our state. However, I desperately need for her to see him again, and she can't until APRIL! My son is getting worse and worse and we really need to get him in NOW. His dr. is working on helping us, but so far, nothing! Does anyone know of any other dr.'s in the Mississippi area??? (Even in AL or LA or GA?)
thereishope Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Have you emailed Beth Maloney yet? info@savingsammy.net If you ask for her list, she'll send you all the doctors she has. Have you tried contacting the neuro directly instead of just talking to the appt desk. Your son is an established patient, you should be able to get in sooner.
EAMom Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Not sure about Mississippi docs...but here's an ongoing list we have http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=5023 I know there are some in Fl and NC on the list.

What did the neuro do 2 years ago for him? If your pediatrician is agreeable, perhaps you could work out a treatment plan that includes antibiotics and perhaps a course of steroids. The treatment options are fairly few when it comes to PANDAS and I'm not sure there is anything a neuro could do that a ped couldn't. Also, if your ped is accepting of the PANDAS diagnosis but unsure how to properly treat, you could do a phone consultation with Dr. Latimer in Maryland, (or have your ped speak with her) and then follow her treatment recommendations. Good luck!
