To pull or not pull, tonsils?

Eeeeeeeewwwwwwwh! I looked up frenulectomy on-line and the pictures didn't make it look like it was all that fun.

 

So, Fredrick Lloyd is a pediatrician at PAMF and has several PANDAS patients. He is a believer and will work with whatever recommendation there is by any other Dr. Sounded like if I could get Dr. K/Margo to recommend monthly IVIG and I could find an outpatient facility he would prescribe locally. Sent the referral over to Dr. Lewis... etc., etc. Also said my son's tonsils were a 4 out of 10 and didn't seem like they needed to be pulled but we would keep watching him. He loved seeing the history I provided. Also said..... rapid strep tests would be negative due to antibiotic use, I guess I never realized that would be the case.

 

So, status quo.

What kind of doctor is he? Does he do IVIG? What does PAMF stand for? Thanks!

It is a big medical group...close to Stanford Univ.
