Suzan Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 If dogs can be trained to detect cancer, why not strep? Our dog trainer always thought that our little cocka-poo showed signs of being extra sensitive to and aware of smells and would be a good rescue dog for diabetics. I was thinking this morning about strep and that maybe a dog could detect the smell in urine and intracellular strep might be able to be located (in addition to the smell in your breath which is a little more obvious). I wonder how to go about training a little PANDAS dog Susan

EAMom Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Awesome idea...you can use the dog to check to see if any friends are strep carriers! If so, no playdate!
