Do you remember why flax seed oil is better? I just bought stuff with fish oil and he's actually willing to take it. My head spins when I read everything that might help him, but actually trying to find things in forms that a picky eater will take is so hard.

Just pulling others' experiences for that last post, but the consensus seemed to be that some kids did better on Flax Seed Oil than Fish or CL oil. I don't think there was a rhyme or reason (other than one specific where the child was allergic to fish.) We have tried CLO and saw no change, so I just ordered some Flax Seed Oil. I have read that Barlean's Strawberry Creme is a good brand/flavor, so we're trying that. We're on Feingold too, but she seems to have no change with berries. I'm not sure how the other ingredients "flavors" will affect her, but I only intro one new thing at a time, so usually I can tell right away if she's reacting to an ingredient.

Reading about Manganese levels in FallingApart's last post... thoughts on Manganese testing??

We had Selenium levels tested last year and they were fine.... heard that can be a trigger if those are low.

Has anyone has minerals or heavy metal testing done while any of the blood work has been done? We are still at the hospital waiting to be discharged. Our ped has not seen these results come in yet and is still waiting on them. She does not think that I am off base and thinks perhaps we could have 2 things going on. Before everyone else rushes out for more bloodwork, I will let you know how ours turns out. Since we actually did have a kiln in our house from the previous owner for up to 40 years.

If anyone is interested, I did come across a website that carries Fish Free Omega 3's that do not derive from fish oil. I was tempted to get them because I didn't know how my son would do with any "fishy taste" regular Omega 3's might have, but it ended being too pricey and I passed. But it would be good for kids w/ fish allergies.
