peglem Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 I really want to try Naltrexone for my daughter...I think. Ugh, we've tried so many things to get her SIBs under control-this at least sounds safer than a lot of things that haven't worked. But, Dr. Cunningham's labs is sending me test materials this week and since they are going on vacation there, I can't actually get the blood draw until July 6th. So my question is...should I wait on the Naltexone until after the blood draw? Would the endorphin effects on her immune system change the results of the testing?
EAMom Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 I would think it is hard to say for sure what effect the Naltrexone would have. I would wait to start it until after you draw the blood just to be on the safe side.
peglem Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 Thanks for the reply, I was kinda thinking that. The school is kinda on our heinies to medicate her ( I know they're not supposed to, but they've got this neat trick where they bring in a consultant from outside.). The thing is we've been trying lots of things for a long time. Anyway, i guess we can stave them off for a few more weeks- its not like they enjoy corresponding with me or anything, but that's another story. Your right, though, gotta keep things separate or we'll never know.
