thymus gland - T cells - puberty

Recommended Posts

It's interesting that the thymus gland is responsible for the development of antibodies e.g. t-cells (part of the immune response) and stops working at puberty. It grows quite rapidly until age 7, then more slowly until puberty at which time it starts to atrophy - I'm wondering - could there be some relation to the fact that PANDAS seems to fade away at puberty?
