CSP
So many times... I have worried about how humilating my son must feel sitting in a dugout yelping in the ears of the other baseball players. So many times... I have wondered should we have him take a break from baseball until he is doing better? So many times... I have wondered and worried what goes through the minds of these boys, do they dred being on the same team as my son? Well... while I was so worried about how humilated my son must feel, I saw this summer how humble these boys really are. He ended his summer games with a fundraiser, tournament, and homerun derby. What brought me to tears is my son tied for 3rd for the most homeruns. raised over $300, gave up only one run in pitching that helped his team win the tournament. And the kicker was one boy told my husband he hoped our son would win the derby. One mother told us she loves watching our son play ball. WOW! Just a little encouragement for new moms and dads, who are worried TS or PANDAS will get in the way of the talents God has given our kids. Stay strong, and don't let the worring get in the way, our kids will succeed no matter how different they are. God Bless, CP P.S For you baseball fans, the line for the homeruns was set for 275ft, he was given 15 pitches, 5 were homeruns but 4 were just short. He is only 97lbs and pitches very slow strikes, it is like a big beach ball coming in so slow the batter is shaking his head in disbelief he missed that ball. Its comical to watch them look down to the 3rd base coach smiling and saying how did I miss that?

Its comical to watch them look down to the 3rd base coach smiling and saying how did I miss that? Oh, wow! So good to hear about our children's successes despite the challenges they've been given. My ds was crying yesterday while I was taking a private tennis lesson to work on my serve. He was hitting against the wall and I left my lesson, saw him crying, and immediately thought the OCD was back. It wasn't, he was upset that his serve 'sucks' and he wants to get better so he can play some junior tournaments. I was laughing in relief but told him that if he wanted to take tennis seriously that he must start practicing. He agreed and seems really determined to succeed. It was also fun to watch him last flag football season score 2 winning touchdowns on the day of a tournament when he was ticcing so badly that I was wondering how he could even see!!! It made those touchdowns so much sweeter to us b/c we knew how hard it was for him to focus on the goal line. Congrats to your son!! I, too, feel the way you do when I see him ticcing around his friends and wondering what they might be thinking. Turns out that most kids really are accepting of other's differences after all!
