Zithromycin

We finished our week of zith and now we are supposed to use once every 5 days. My doctor originally said I pill (250 mg). But I noticed in an old post Ronnas is using 500 mg -- that would be two pills. My daughter is 16 and about 125 lbs -- what do you think -- one or two pills? I am thinking she needs two.

 

Also -- and I don't know how I missed this -- the pills I have are red! Does anyone know if there is a zith without artificial colors? We switched from amoxil to PenVK because of the artificial color.

The pills are red - not sure if there are other options. I thought ronna's son was on 250mg every 5 days. We are on the 250mg every 5 days.

CORRECTION - not sure what I was thinking this morning ( I had not had my morning coffee) my son is on 500 mg every 5th day - so 2 pills every 5th day and Ronna's is on the same. Sorry for the wrong info.

Allie's tablets are white. I have never seen red azith.

Do the white ones happen to how a manufacturer or brand. I would love to get some without the red!

The script label says: This is a white, oval shaped tablet imprinted with PLIVA on the front and 787 on the back.

 

Pliva is the manufacturer or distributer- it says PLIVA INC on the bottom of the label.

I had to call around to different pharmacies and ask if they had white Zithromax tabs. I finally found one that did and they said they got it from a certain manufacturer. It costs the same as the ones with red dye.
