Michelle, I was reading more on Dr. Demio. We are looking at prophylactic antibiotics for my son. It looks like perhaps he does not like the use of antibiotics. Have you spoken with him about this? He discusses IVIG. Have you talked to him about that? I was wondering his thoughts on IVIG and things. Thanks- Oh also, was he the one he prescribed Abilify?

Demio suggested Actos an off use drug to help with immune function. We started on it. I decided it had too many negative risks. It is used for diabetes typically. My son's tics got worse at first maybe from the Actos. It may stir up the immune system early on which can make things worse in the short term. Dr. Demio believes in five years Actos will be used regularly for these syndrome disorders. He has had great success with it. He is very familiar with the syndrome disorders as his son is autistic. More the route he takes is first diet, GF, CF, then enzymes, runs alot of blood work, stool tests etc. Gives lots of supplements and vitamins. Had me give amino acids created for my son. Probiotics. Nystatin for the yeast. I felt Nystatin really helped with the toxins. Although he did seem worse at first with behaviors. Then he wanted him to do chelation for heavy metals. I never took that route. I used a infectious disease Dr. for the antibiotics although Dr. Demio could prescribe them. He is a MD. He is not happy about their use though long term. He can do IVIG but never suggested it to us. I think he would use chelation or Hbot first. The Abilify was prescibed by the neurologist. I think it takes a team to figure this all out. The neurologist doesn't believe in the diet, supplements etc. approach though. The immunologist would like to work with the neurologist before doing IVIG to consult with him. I am using a neurologist from Cleveland Clinic and a immunologist from University Hospital System. If you could find a team at the same place it would be easier. Dr. Demio is expensive. He charges for every conversation. You can phone consult with him. He really takes his time and explains things well. He is very smart and knowlegable. I turned his bills into insurance and got some reinburcement. He is a good guy if you want to go the natural route. All the best.
