Nan Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Hi all, For those who have hepa filters , are these portable filters that you can carry from one room to another or is it fixed at the a/c vent ? When I read posts about hepa filters in bedrooms only, I am assuming that it is a portable one. Am I right ? Please chime in. If anyone has a preferred brand, please let me know that too. Thanks, Nan
myrose Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Hello Nan I am not sure if you remember a post I did a bit back. I noticed quite a significant decrease im my daughters tics when I went out and bought a hepa filter. The trouble was that she was aslo prescribed with nasonex at the same time I put the filter in her room so....I wasn't sure which one really helped! I always seem to do TOO many things at once but I am getting better. Anyhow I have kept it in her room ever since and always have her bedroom door shut unless we have a warm vaporizer going in there as well. It was not expensive, I picked it up at Target. Walmart probably has the same selection. I did a little bit of research before I did make the purchase and settled on the brand called Holmes. It has a washable pre-filter and then you have to replace the hepa one a couple times a year. To mention a few reasons why I chose this one...It has a quiet setting for night. You can barely hear it. I turn it up for during the day. Also it has the Ionizer built in. It works for rooms up to size 10' x 12'. 3 cleaning levels and it removes the following: Ragweed Pollen, grass pollen, tree pollen, household dust, dust mite debris, mold spores, pet dander and smoke. It cost about 50 bucks. Here is a link to one I found on the internet that is the exact one I have. http://www.jardenstore.com/product.aspx?bi...30&cid=1701 I am waiting to get some extra cash together and plan on buying them for a few more rooms. LOVE IT!!! Hope this helps! have a great night
myrose Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Soory I forgot...YES they are poratble and are just plug ins. Not sure about the others....
Hope Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 I would love to hear your recommendations for specific types/brands of HEPA filters that you use in your homes! Thanks!
