myrose Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Can someone give me the number on Dr. Murphy. The one in Gainesville?? I think that is where she is. I live in Orlando and have heard nothing but GOOD about her. The only BAD thing I read on these boards is the wait to get in to see her. Does anyone know if she is still seeing patients. If our insurance does not cover this..can someone also give me an idea as to how much a visit like this would cost and what she would do to start in a chronic tic disorder??

I am heading to her soon hopefully. Just want to make a call ahead of time to see what might benefit us to bring along...such as test results, diairies etc.... Did you make an appointment? Are you headed to see her??
michele Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 We flew to see her. It did take months to get in. I would suggest first calling Dustin her intake cordinator. Then get all your records to her as soon as possible. He will review them and then schedule you for an appointment. I brought everything along. Journals, test records, notes. It was a long appointment. First you see an intern. They go over your records and observe your child with you in the room. Then in came Dr. Murphy and she sat and talked and answered questions. I am sorry to say we only got a script for OT but she did write up her recommendations and they did help us. We were out of state so I am guessing that is why she did not write a script for meds. Hope this is what you needed. Michele http://mdc.mbi.ufl.edu/murphy.htm she replied to us this week, happy to help my 13 yr old son sarina Thank You SO MUCH for your reply!
