myrose
I have not started Bonnies Vitamins yet...planning to do so soon (after an allergist sees her) My question is if I should give her, her daily multivitamin along with the supplements or stop the daily mutivitamin when I start the supplements. Also can anyone recommend a GOOD multivitamin for a 5 year old (trying to find one with everything in it but the dyes and such) Thank You so much in advance for all your help. My computer internet connection is down at home right now and I am going CRAZY not being able to access the boards here! Hopefully it will be fixed SOON! Caryn
Bontech is pretty comprehensive. Our DAN doc said the only thing he didn't like was that it didn't have any zinc. He also said ds needed to get his daily intake of calcium too. We did Bontech initially and then phased it out to do a compounded vit. With the compounded vit that was more specific to our son's lab results we included a very pure multi called Baby Plex (it is a liquid that comes with a dropper and even my baby will take it directly on his tongue so it must not taste that awful). I give it to all my kids. It doesn't have 100% of everything, but we are feeding ds a very good diet high in fruits and veggies, gluten and corn free. We do not do anything artificial either. At the time I did like the Bontech and got very good results with it. It was just too many vits every day for a 4 yr old. The compounded vit was only four a day. We are currently TS supplement free after almost a year on the gluten and corn free dairy reduced diet. We do use baby plex and fish oil daily. This may change as our ds's stress levels change and or/ he infringes on his diet. Hope this helps. I noticed you haven't gotten a response yet and so I thought I would offer up what little info I had.
myrose
Thank You so much Caryn for your reply. I did write an email to Bontech and they responded/advised that I use nothing else at all while on the supplements. Your comments on the calcium and zinc are concerning me now. My daughter has been perfectly calm and pretty much tic free after a 2 week course of nasonex. I also added a hepa filter in her room at the start of the nasonex. I thought it was all strange and believed and still do believe there may be a connection....hopeful anyhow. So our next step is the allergy testing. So as far as Bonnies supplements, I am waiting to see if her tics come back and pick up before I try them. I am just giving her a multivitiamin for now. I am not sure how we would get through 10 of those things when and if it does come time to try! Thanks again so much for your reply, I truly appreciate it. Bontech is pretty comprehensive. Tracey111
Has anyone ever addressed the high level of Beta Carotene in Bonnie's Vitamins? I was looking up each one individually and this one seemed very high at 25000IU. I read that Vitamin A is stored and can be toxic. I have a 50LB six year old and I am concerned about giving him so many supplements...and if they can lead to toxic amounts, I want to be cautious! Thanks. My daughter is going through a tic fee stage right now and so I am trying to figure it all out. If and when I look to start giving her the supplements i will bring them in to her Doctors first and make sure they are okay for her. I had planned to do that since day one....just have not started them yet. Could you possibly bring them in to his pediatrician and ask? If so can you let me know what you are told. If I need to start them and get advice from our pediatrician I will let you know as well what I am told. Have a nice night and I hope your son is doing good.
