CarolynN
Well I took Daniel into my Naturopathic doctor, Dr. Orona, today regarding his MSG and artificial problem. I explained to her what I have observed over the past 6 months, since I last saw her, and his reactions to MSG and artificial foods. She said she believes that in Daniel we are not dealing with an "allergy" but purily a sensitivity to toxins in food (apparently there is a big difference). She said in Daniel's body his body is taking these products in very quickly as toxins. With this being said she said that enzymes would be beneficial for him. She told me, primarily, he should take them when he consumes protein. She thought this may utimately help him with this sensitivity. She also created a homeopathic solution to help counter the MSG. With this all being said she made it clear I need to avoid these foods as much as possible even with the enzymes and homeopathic solution. But she realizes he is only 7 and certainly he is not going to eat perfect every day of his life. Regarding the NEAT treatment, which again is very similar to NAET, she explained that actual foods you are truly allergic too, like milk or corn, will resurface eventually, after the treatment, if you do not take enzymes. As my earlier post stated, this would explain why you need "tune-ups". I have to say the strangest thing to me about the NEAT treatment today, although Dr. Orona did not think it was too strange, was neither the MSG nor the artificial dyes showed up as a problem for him during the NEAT test . Whereas in the past four or five times it has shown up. I certainly cannot explain why this would be knowing this is his biggest problem. Dr. Orona, said once again, it is not an allergy we are dealing with but strictly a major sensitivity issue to toxins, so it would not necessarily show up. He only showed a true allergy to 8 things and what is interesting is two of them are tyramine foods (banana and raisin's) and three of them have naturally high levels of glutamate meaning they could potentially cause an MSG type reaction (tomatoe's, potatoe's and grape tomatoe's). Although, with none of these foods listed have I ever noticed a reaction with tics. It is all strictly the chemical foods. By the way, we are four days past my accidental giving of MSG to Daniel. As I hoped and thought, because of past experience with MSG "overdose", his tics were much better today then yesterday. I would say from Friday to today he is at about 60% improvement. I just think again if I did not know it was the MSG and gave him another food with it in his poor little body would be under such attack. By the way, I threw my jaundice question out to her and she really did not have much response. She said jaundice certainly can do damage to the brain at high levels but I don't think she was convinced that would be the reason he is going through this experience. Thanks for all the responses!
