Erin
I can't sleep anymore, well it takes hours to get to sleep. I'll start thinking of some stupid, meaningless task, and if i do not complete it right when i think of it, i will feel like my body is pulling me out to do it. Like calling people, i have to call people more than once, the same people, but i have to call constantly, And these lights in my house if they are all not set the way they were certain ones on certain ones off, i don't feel like i'm comfortable at all, and i get scared. Really scared and my heart starts racing, what can i do? This is destroying me.
CarolynN
Hi Erin, I am so sorry you are going through such a difficult time. I would suggest several things. The main thing is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. You can read a lot about it if you do a search on this forum. It really seems to help so many. The other thing is supplements like Inositol. It also has helped so many people. There is also 5HTP which also has helped many. But you would want to do your research. A great thing would be if there is a Naturopathic Doctor you could go to and ask about these differant products and doseage amounts. But I have to tell you the vast majority of the information I have learned is simply by reading this forum. I have spent many hours in doing so. You would want to read also under the Tourettes section because a lot of the information overlaps. Also Candida could be another possibly of something going on in your body. This is an overgrowth of yeast that can cause OCD type behavior. Another factor is have you had strep throat recently because their is something called PANDA's which is strep induced OCD. Erin there is so much hope for you. I would just strongly recommend you read this forum. I would start with this posting by Chemar. It really helped me out http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=687 . Another thing to consider is are you intaking a lot of artificial food colorings or MSG. I did a posting on how MSG affects my son and here it is http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2598 . For my son when he takes these products in his symptoms go way up including anxiety. I will be praying for you Erin! Carolyn N
