emma1
I am trying to search for tic triggers for my 16 year old daughter. I don't really know if I should even be doing this because the doctor seems to think PANDAS is involved because of high strep titres. But since she started the antibiotics, the tics are worse, so I feel I must do something!!! Would it be useful to test for gluten/casein/yeast sensitivity? This company: https://www.enterolab.com/Home.htm has a home test. Has anyone used this company or one like it. Could gluten/casein/yeast be the problem? (I am very confused as I can't think of anything that is different -- I would have thought something would have shown up in the first 16 years -- but something has to be differnet.) Any opinions most appreciated!!!!! Emma
Mustang Carole
Hi Emma, While you are looking for a lab to draw blood, etc... try cutting out the milk and milk products for a few weeks and see if there is any changes and then try the wheat free just go slow. Casein takes about a month to clear and wheat takes a few months to clear the body. Here are some great recipies from an old list http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/8672/stjreci1.htm Hope you get some positive results. Hang in there, Mom! Happy healing, Mustang Carole
emma1
Thank for the website -- some of the recipes look good. Do you know -- could a child go 16 years with no symptoms and then develop an intolerance to gluten or casein. That seems strange to me.
Mustang Carole
HI, She may have a sensitivity to milk/wheat that did not show up as such until her immune system went into over load when the strep attack. Any food that comes in a box is loaded with the preservatives and dyes that also adds to the stress on immune system. We would all be alot healthier if we ate natural foods, esp. the organic, meats without hormones, cook from scratch, etc. Of course we all say, time and money are the huge factors...but then again, health reigns supreme...
