boysrlove24
Hi everyone, My son is battling yeast like all of our kids on this forum...we've tried Nystatin but he had an allergic reaction to it. He has also used Candicidal for months and of course an army of probiotics. But still the yeast presses on... His doc has recommended Kolorex, which we are starting tomorrow - BUT I've been researching Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. It looks like 1 tbsp per day mixed in juice does wonders for a bunch of health issues. Anyone try this? Any luck with it or is it just a dream that something so simple could help with yeast problems? Gpookie
Not for my kids, but for me, I tried Apple Cider Vinegar for my candida. While it greatly helped general digestive issues, it made my yeast many, many times worse. For me, GSE worked wonders. The GSE drops worked far better than the pills...I gained 12 pounds in 3 weeks on Nystatin...go figure. For my kids, nystatin did not work, but garlic pills were a miracle, but massive die-off for 3 days before things settled...2000mg a day. MomWithOCDSon
My DS did not have yeast issues while on his abx regimen, but we were pretty heavy-handed with the probiotics, too. Never tried apple cider vinegar, though I see its health benefits preached all over the web these days. Hyperbole? Maybe. Supposedly, sach b (Florastor) is a beneficial yeast that is supposed to "crowd out" detrimental, invasive yeast species such as candida, so we dosed that 3 times/day. Also used bentonite clay once each week to "sweep out" his gut; just a couple of tablespoons in a glass of juice before bedtime. Maybe that helped, too? Good luck!
