AllieMood
Has anyone found that penicillin did not work/made things worse? Is this possible? Or could there be something unknown going on? My daughter (6) was able to move quickly out of her symptoms on ammoxicillin twice over the past year, last relapse she took a zpak and I felt like she was 80 percent better (two weeks ago). We started penicillin (long term for a year) two days after a zpak under care of pediatrician, and I feel like she is regressing all of the sudden (day 4 now of penicillin) --- didn't sleep last night, fear of shots and needles tonight before bed, worries, I am also seeing some tics slowly come on... Set an apt to see dr latimer in April (first available)
qannie47
Amoxicillin is a different version of penicillin..a generic..is what I have been taught. Penicillin should be more effective... if abx is failing..that is typically a red flag/sign that ivig is indicated...unless it is not pandas or pans.. qannie47
Dr k's research indicates that abx alway/eventually fails over time with pans/pandas
