SEAMom Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 My DS15 just had IVIG for the first time on Tuesday, 48 hours ago. He has a monstrous headache that is making him miserable. Did others experience this and how long did it last? What did you do to help manage it? Thanks!
dasu Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Every kid seems different. My daughters seems to get the headache about 24 hours after the conclusion and it lasts for about three days. Each day gets better though. My son has had one, but it only lasted a day.
tj21 Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 ds15 was supposed to get IV fluids before the actual IVIG, which helps, but didn't.We were lucky and no headache or nausea. MD said steroids would be used for headache, and also prescribed Zofran for nausea just in case. See if your MD can help!
EAMom Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 Yes, my did got the headache. It lasted a few days? Rotated Tylenol and Advil (normally we don't do Tylenol btw) and also gave bebedryl.
