Born with lyme and co-infections?

Recommended Posts

DD is now also being treated for lyme and bartonella. I read some things about congenital lyme, but don't understand how you would know. I was treated for lyme before I had children. Is there a way to know when a person was infected? Is the treatment different?

(We don't know of any particular time DD had a tick bite, but in our area I wonder who hasn't been bitten by a tick?)

Our LLMD thinks DD's infections are congenital. She was born with light/sound/touch sensitivities and reacted to her 15 month MMR by developing apraxia and losing fine motor function. She had hypotonia and developed febrile seizues at 6 months.

To me all of these symptoms point to an immune system and brain function that are under stress, as would be expected if she was dealing with the immune suppression caused by both lyme and bartonella.

No. It's the same treatment, although having lived with this all of her life (chronically and not just acutely), DD's immune system may be more impacted than it would have otherwise been.

The longer these children are sick, the longer their methylation/detox systems are compromised and the more toxins they build up in their bodies. The longer they are sick, the sicker they get.

Two boys with congenital Lyme unknowingly passed on. Oldest I breast fed 2 years is healthier. Youngest only 6 months due to pneumonia. Was youngest re bitten is the wondering. 14 years disease grew as so many misdiagnosis.

Only one crawling tick ever seen on boys.
