I think my daughter may have PANDAS. Does anyone recommend a doctor in Maine or Boston? Neither her primary care norher psychiatrist will even give her the strep blood test or antibiotics. Thanks so much!

If none of the above doctors work for you, be sure to hit up parenting networks or lists in your area for a recommendation. You may find doctors who at least have some experience with the disease that way.

speaking from experience, we live in Portsmouth, nh, it is very hard to find anyone who knows PANDAS or wants to be educated. if you do find someone, please let us know.

here is what we did: we first went to bouboulis in CT. it's 4 hours each way and they want you to visit 3 to 4 times a year, which is not exactly great but better than nothing.

Hubbuch in watertown is only 1 hour away. she was a participant at PANDAS conference. I would think she is your best bet. She is a LLMD. but I have some reservations toward her as well.

finally, Kyle Williams and Dr. Pasternack at Mass General but neither seems to believe in Lyme and they have a very narrow understanding of PANDAS -- OCD is its proper manifestation and if there is no obvious OCD it is not PANDAS.

Good luck

I realize this is an older post but I could not NOT reply. We have been seeing Drs O'Hara and Szakacs (Wilton, CT) for almost 10 years and could not be happier. Dr Szakacs comes to MA as often as once a month. They are very progressive in the field and work closely with Dr Bouboulis in Darien CT. Anyone who is struggling with PANDAS or autism in Maine, NH or MA should consider meeting them for a consult. We went through 7 doctors before finding them. Best of luck to you :)
