T_Anna
There is a discussion on Facebook about whether IVIG works for PANDAS patients who have had onset longer than 6 months. Someone mentioned that SCIG might be better and I was curious if anyone has done this. T.Anna
mdmom
High-dose IVIG is what is indicated for PANDAS. I cannot imagine that administering Ig subcutaneously (SCIg) would work for PANDAS/PANS because you cannot deliver high doses of Ig this way. T_Anna
That's what I thought, but figured I would post anyway and see if I was missing an option. T.Anna
PowPow
It is a sub Q infusion, so you can do decent amounts. It is done in abdomen typically. Our immuno thought that this couldlo be a good option someday. My daughter is being treated for autoimmune encephalitis (successfully) with 1 g/kg a month for the next few months. Perhaps, she m ay get a sub-Q infusion sometime in the future. The dosing may be different for sub q.
