Kathy4Him
My ds 23 will only go outside to get in car to go to Dr. or counseling, otherwise ocd avoidances keep him inside. It has been like this for over a year. We live in Louisiana and today's high is 72 degrees and beautiful outside. DS followed my husband outside when he was leaving after lunch. I quickly shut the door after him, knowing he would not open it or come in until I did. I have washed 2 vehicles, mowed the grass, weed eated, used the blower and watered every plant in the yard. 2 hours later we finally came inside. If I had an outhouse, we would still be outside. So grateful for moments like this!

This is a kid who lived outdoors...5-7 hours a day of tennis, had a nice tan, now looks like snow white...well, the male version:) SO ready for the breakthrough, like all the parents dealing with this. MomWithOCDSon
  My DS isn't currently phobic about leaving the house or going outside, but he nevertheless harbors "vampire" tendencies . . . prefers the "Man Cave" and staying up til all hours of the night to the great outdoors and daylight! Hence, he gets 4,000 IUs of D3 daily!
airial95
Yay!!! We took the kids camping this weekend (and it was very cold by Tampa standards!) just to force my son out of the house and off of his video games (he did manage to sneak his PS Vita into the car - but he managed to play outside some.) It was a small victory - like yours, but those are the ones that are so much more valuable!!
