LNN
Susie, you may find this article helpful (it's 50 pgs long - scroll down past the top diagram). http://www.heartfixer.com/AMRI-Nutrigenomics.htm I copied the entire thing into Word. Then I got out my kids' reports and deleted the gene info for genes that were normal, leaving only the ones they had issues with. I also deleted the fluff at the back like the recipes. This gave me a 12 page Word doc for my son and a 20 pg doc for my daughter. I then read thru each and highlighted the suggestions I found most pertinent - avoid this, supplement that.... I ended up with a customized road map of diet/supplements for each kid. We didn't use Yasko but I've seen her list of supplements and agree it's totally unrealistic and unaffordable. I do buy certain supplements from Yasko's company Holistic Health when I need a specific form/dose of something. But you need to be realistic about this stuff. KungaDorji
A very late reply- but this information has been hard to come by: D1 receptors are involved in the Direct pathway in the basal ganglia- which inhibit behavior according to inputted info D2 receptors are involved in the Indirect pathway-- which activates appropriate behaviours One issue that happens with PANDAS is that an autoimmune reaction against the D2 receptors may develop turning off the normal inhibition of unwanted behaviours. OCD and Tourettes are then forms of "escape behaviour" caused by improper gating at the basal ganglia. https://www.dartmouth.edu/~rswenson/NeuroSci/figures/Figure_25.htm
4Nikki
Gosh thanks so much for this thread. I’m going to have to read it a few times and see how it applies to dd and how supporting mitochondrial cell deficiency affects the levels. Her symptom intentensity has decreased on a scale of 1-10 being a 11 down to a 1,2 or 3. Evey time I check the Cunningham panel site, they have more complete and concise Information. A area of information that seems to escape my many discoveries in searching for causes is like the videos says that “attack within the brain including the basal ganglia”. I’ve typically been looking for answers on how it affects the basal ganglia. However, there are also other parts of the brain.
