Slight shaking hands

Recommended Posts

My ds12 Pandas has been doing pretty well lately. I would say he is about 90-95% on any given day. He is doing well at school and handwriting has greatly improved. The only medication he is taking is augmentin 500mg/2x per day. I realize this is a lower dose in the pandas world, but it seems to be helping him so I don't want to increase it if I don't have to. He has been taking this dose since July. He is also taking a probiotic once daily. That is all. I have noticed a slight shaking of his hands lately as he is holding his pencil or fork, etc.... He was at McDonald's the other day and the employee behind the counter asked him why he was shaking when he handed her some money. I seem to remember reading about Sammy (saving Sammy) shaking. If i remember correctly, the doctor was concerned, but if I recall that was a result of an SSRI. Should I worry about this? Anyone else noticed this? Could it be a tic? I cant imagine what else could be causing this as he is not on any other medications.

Our next doctors appt. is not till May. Don't want to go to the hassle of traveling to the clinic if it is not necessary.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Yes, I would be concerned and see a neurologist. I think waiting until May would be a mistake. That is a very long time. My son had hand tremors and body trembling at one point during the worst of his PANDAS. I would think it wise to pursue any "new" symptomology, especiallly if you ahve knowledge that your son is on a lower dose for abx than is typical for treatment.
