hugs2day Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 My 9 year old has been doing very well since JAN with PENN VK. I forgot to give him his second dose on Sunday night first time ever and he woke up at 2am with sore throat, sick stomach and high fever. Seems like strep swab says no. PANDAS is creeping in but a new symptom has arose that we have not been faced with before. He says his brain keeps blacking out and he forgets where he is for a split second. Scares me to death have appt this afternoon with pediatrician. Has anyone else heard of this symptom? Please share if so, Thank you.

I would have your DS evaluated for seizures, but also consider the possibility of lyme/co-infections. My DS has both, and that's what it was appearing was causing these symptoms.
hugs2day Posted July 24, 2012 Author Report Posted July 24, 2012 I read that possibly a sudden drop in serantonin can cause that momentary lapse of feeling lost. We see pediatrician this afternoon and waiting for a call back from neurologist too. The ENT he saw last week said his tonsils are huge and touching. Said he will remove them. I am going to do it but cant until mid August. I think if he doesn't have strep whatever bacteria is in the tonsils is wreaking havoc. Lyme/Bart is always on my brain. Any symptoms seems possible with that disease. Thank you.
