Irena Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 We have completed 8 injections of B12. We will start MB12 as soon as we get it from the US. But because the Organix test showed very low level of B12 (suggested additional daily amount - 800 mcg), our doctor decided to give him 10 injections of "normal" (not metylated) B12. Very painful and unpleasant, by the way. I have read (dr Neubrander www.drneubrander.com and parent's reports) that, as so often with other supplements, it is worse before it gets better. But what I read was about autistic children and their possible (usually present) withdrawal and hyperactivity. I would like ask those of you who have experience with MB12 what your experience in regards to tics is. We are observing increase in tics but there are some other reasons for his tics to get worse (eg. killing yeast). I will be gratefull for your comments, Irena
Guest Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Irena, Hopefully the MB12 won't sting like the B12. I will say when MB12 stings it is very painful. I did two batches like that and then decided the stinging wasn't worth the cheaper price. I personally don't notice MB12 making my tics worse. Though when I asked on Dr. Neubrander's chat they said tics can get worse with MB12. The last time I asked they had only had one patient with Tourette's, and they did MB12 with the patient. The patient's tics got a lot better, but weren't totally gone. Carolyn
Irena Posted August 16, 2006 Author Report Posted August 16, 2006 Thank you Carolyn, I also hope that the injections will not sting, but probably they can't be worse than those taken now (B12). The ones he's getting now are quite big, need to be injected into a muscle. It takes time (the longer the less painfull). And it hurts for some time afterward. I am glad that Lee Silsby is listed among those pharmacies that dr Neubrander recommends. Trying to find some info on MB12 here on the board, I found a chat with dr Neubrander (posted by Kim ) where he says that those who respond well to MB12 may be the ones who need taking it for the rest of their life!!! Does it mean that the body is not able to correct its metabolism?! Well, what about those who do not respond well. Low B12 for ever? Both options not very apealing.
Sydsmom Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 We give my daughter the MB12 shots and hers have never stung. We started over a year ago and I don't remember if the tics got worse but I do know we ran out months ago and I was slow to order and I noticed a change in her tics and behavior. After we started up again things were better. She hasn't had any in the last two weeks due to being at camp and she's a little moodier. Plus she happily informed me when she came home that she had dairy and sugar everyday while at camp. She's 12 and very strong willed. She came home with more tics than when she left and a bit sullen though she'll never admit it. Anyway, we like the MB12 and the affect it seems to have on her on top of all the supps and diet restrictions we do. I hope you see some positive changes too. Lisa
kim Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 "Plus she happily informed me when she came home that she had dairy and sugar everyday while at camp. She's 12 and very strong willed." RELATING Only change that to "He's almost 10."
