Thanks for this thread! Lots of good ideas!

We've been giving a blended calcium/zinc/magnesium supplement, twice daily, for the last several years. Three things in one tablet makes things a little simpler.

We have smoothies every Sunday morning, and like fightingmom, I'm big on using the frozen organic fruits (the blended one with blueberries, raspberries and blackberries is one of our favorites) from Trader Joe's. We usually use organic vanilla yogurt for the base though, and I'd never even thought about trying to sneak some "green" in there! I do believe I'll try it this weekend, but I should probably substitute a little juice for the yogurt, you think?

Just wanted to say thanks to you guys for the smoothie ideas/recipies!

This past Sunday, I changed up our usual recipie: still used frozen raspberries, blueberries and strawberries, but exchanged the yogurt for a little apple juice and dropped in a handful of fresh spinach leaves! The smoothie turned out a deep, dark purple, so no green visible.

I had a lot of fun with DH and DS about the "secret ingredient" while they both sucked down their smoothies and declared them "delicious!" Imagine the looks on their faces when I told them they'd just had a serving of spinach!

They really did look and taste good, so thanks for the great idea! I've tried "hiding" zucchini and broccoli in breads, muffins and pastas before, but my DS always picks up on it and declares it inedible by his taste buds. <_< Up until yesterday, the only "greens" I've been truly successful about getting into him have been green beans and asparagus, both of which require a tasty marinade before roasting.

But now, all I have to do is offer up a smoothie! Thanks again! :D

okay, here's a brownie recipe:

1) 1 package TJ's brownie truffle mix (this one http://bakingbites.com/2009/02/trader-joes-brownie-truffle-baking-mix-reviewed/ )

2) 2 eggs (this is what the package says--I use the healthier DHA omega 3 eggs)

3) 1/2 cup canola oil (package says to use butter)

4) 1/3 cup flax seed meal (my addition)

5) 1/3 cup water (my addition)

6) 1/2 cup Amazing Meal Chocolate Infusion (my addition)

cooked according to package directions

They ate it all, no complaints.

Let me know what you think, and if there is a way to adjust the recipe to make it better.

I did buy that "Sneaky Chef" book a while back, but the recipes were too involved for my lazy self. I like "doctoring" a mix better.
