TessaKrista Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 My ds9 had strep last month, along with d aytime urinary frequency, and anxiety. He ended up with a skin rash. His pediatrician said that it was likely the result of wearing hockey gloves, and he prescribed a steroid cream. The walk in clinic thought that it was contact dermatitis, and referred him to the walk in clinic's skin specialist, who said that it was the result of getting his hands exposed to cold weather, and he prescribed a cortisteroid cream. I used it on his hands---where the rash was really bad---and 4 days later, he has this constant throat clearing tic. Wondering if anyone out there has noticed that a topical cortisteroid cream increases tics? I know that antihistimines increase tics, and decongestants increase tics, but didn't know about the topical cortisteroid, but it looks like it. Wondering how long this tic will last. Also, he is talking about death a lot lately, wondering if he will die if he swallows this seed and that seed. It really has become a common thing now, which is unusual. He worries about seeds, and then the tics start up again. He worries about swallowing magnets, even though he has never done that in his life... and starts with the throat clearing tics. He seems to worry about at lot of stuff lately.
dcmom Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 All of these symptoms may be a result of strep last month. Could you consider an oral steroid burst?
