MamaOnAMission
Anyone try magnesium for sleep and can it be given with lamictal or Prozac?
MomWithOCDSon
We give a magnesium/calcium/zinc supplement twice daily, and our DS is also taking lamictal and an SSRI (in our case, Zoloft rather than Prozac). Have neither been warned by a doctor of pharmacist or seen any adverse reactions in combining these, and we've been doing so for at least a year now. As for using magnesium specifically for sleep, we tried a supplement that combined melatonin and magnesium for a while, but didn't really see any difference in that versus regular (and less expensive) melatonin, so we've just stuck with that. 1 to 3 mg., half-hour before bed, has been a godsend!
