Question about Doxycycline

Dans been doing very well(thank god) He had PEX (5) and still having IVIG every 21 days .60 grams.

He is on 250 mg depakote and we have added Doxy about 1 1/2 months ago

 

I dont know but I think the Doxy is really helping him.

I wanted to ask if anyone else is using it and having simular success?

 

I see the neuro who want to do PEX again (ughh) March 1he also percribes the Depakote.He doesnt perscribe the IVIG or the Doxy .The immunologist does those.

 

Anyway just a question if anyone has anything to add I would be very greatful

My son also does great on doxycycline, 100 bid. He also has aspergers. If I recall correctly, your son has that too? Would you say his aspergers behaviors are still there?

Doxy is used a lot in lyme and mycoplasma pneumonia (the latter can be a co-infection of lyme). Has Dan been tested for these?

doxy is also a VERY potent anti neuro inflammatory drug. It reduces NF Kappa B, CNS inflammation and modulates glutamate. Our pysch put us on it and really warned us that it's results were more likely due to anti-inflammatory effects rather than chronic infection It's actually in clinical trials for regressive autism.

well that is amazing.He did try minocycline several times and it was a nightmare horrible behaviors.I was scared to try the doxy but im very happy right now and so is danny.Dan does have aspergers so Im seeing alot more socialization and by the way so does his teachers.Appropriate on topic .Im sure its a combo of all but hummmmmm

Ok dr j has upped his doxy to 100 mg bid. So let's see how things go.
