bulldog24 Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 I need to find a new pedi. The pedi that my children have been seeing for 10 years really dropped the ball with my son last year. I also want a doc who doesnt practice " cookie cutter" medicine. I want to slow down the vaccine process for my new baby, and someone who i dont have to fight with. So where do i look? I dont know where to start.
T_Mom Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 My initial reaction is to say, "good luck with this and let us know when you figure it out!" --how many of us have felt this way! --just a few ideas, check the various lists of Dr.s that parents have noted as treating Ps issues (at top of this forum, on www.pandasnetwork.org, and other online sources-- then call first and even ask if the ped. has had experience treating Ps or is knowledgeable, this may be worth trying, and save you alot of time.
LNN Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 I would look for a DAN doctor. If you can't find one who is affordable or takes insurance, ask them if there are any pediatricians in your area that they refer patients to. This will give you an idea of who is friendly to the ideas we here seem to share.
moosiebell Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 I do not have specific recommendations, but there is a book by Kenneth bock m.d. Callied healing the new epidemic...he is a pediatrician who advocates vaccinations at a much slower rate than the typical schedule...His office may have doc recommendations. Sharon
WorriedDADNMOM Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 I would add to look or Google Integrative medicine or Pediatricians in your area in addition to DAN docs. Depending on your local, there is a list of docs on Facebook Saving Sammy page and on this Forum somewhere. You should be able to search for it. Hope this helps
airial95 Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 There is an advocacy group here in Florida that has been pusing for later vaccine schedules -I think they have a website - twoandtalking.com they might have some resouces in other states - I havne't checked it out, but it might be a start.
