LaurenK Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 My son came back positive for Q fever on top of everything else, but it was only IgM positive. Could this be cross reactivity?? Before we had a Igm P23 which completely disapeared with time.

Before we had a Igm P23 which completely disapeared with time. What is Q-fever (is it Bartonella?) And, IgM, means that it is a current infection. Bartonella hides out, and when you start to treat it, it frequently will convert to a positive test (means that you had it all along.)
SSS Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 What do you mean you had an IgM p23 band, but faded over time? Do you mean with treatment? So you've tested Lyme before? IgM P23 is a VERY significant band, and will often show up on Labcorp's WB if you have Lyme.
LaurenK Posted January 30, 2012 Author Report Posted January 30, 2012 The IgM p23 completely disappeared. It did not turn into an IgG. Instead we now have a p66 IgG. Q fever is supposedly a tick born illness but a lot can cross react with it.
