Awesome! Whoa whoa whoa to add http://www.prohealth.com/library/showarticle.cfm?libid=16459 It blocks il-17, I think that's somehow related to th17 and I remember reading th17 disrupts the blood brain barrier in some article somewhere. From what I was reading on pharmaceutical websites there is a big target for th17 but all you need to do is add vitamin D?! Are people going to figure this out? or are they going to be screwed by these companies?? They're already starting- http://www.marketwatch.com/story/lycera-management-to-present-at-upcoming-conferences-2011-09-07 Bet they're gonna charge 50 grand a year... Vitamin D costs what. 13 dollars a bottle. pff Edited September 12, 2011 by pandas16
MomWithOCDSon Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 The first link doesn't work for me. I upped DS's Vitamin D supplementation level a couple of weeks ago, not so much out of conscious choice but because the higher I.U. supplement was on special where we normally purchase. I have noticed that his eczema has taken a holiday of late, but I had initially associated that with our stepping down off the B-12 a bit (histamine production). Maybe the increased D3 is at play, too?!

momcap Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 All 3 of my boys tested low for vitamin D in August, after spending months outside without sunscreen. PANDAS DS7 was the lowest. We are supplementing D3, but our doc wants bloodwork. Vit D is fat-soluble, so it can reach toxic levels. Be careful!
