Carriers of strep...?

an infectious disease doctor basically said my 5 year old is a strep carrier. she is asymptomatic of any symptoms of typical strep . her Anti-Strepolysin O COUNT WAS 255. does not think its PANDAS at all. 3 Doctors now believe my daughters sudden 45 minute long tantrums are just a very strong willed little girl. she has been this way since before 2 years old.

My experience with an infectious disease doctor was not great either. We had already had a pandas diagnosis by 3 doctors. Our ped felt that we should go to one since we had so many infections going on strep, mycoplasma and mono. The doctor basically dismissed all the labs saying it didn't mean anything and that my son looks fine on exam. Myson had a bad cough was pale and had OCD compulsions and a few tics at the time. Idont know your Childs symptoms or details but I would take an infectious

doctors thoughts and comments with a grain of salt. Good luck! By the way my daughter too was like that from a young age, very stubborn strong willed and whiny

screaming fits that were never ending. Till today 8 yrs old she's still like that. She has pandas and positive for Lyme via igenex.

All 3 of my boys have been called strep carriers at one point or another. The doctors here treat strep with 10 days of amoxicillin. Period. If they are still positive then they are a strep carrier - nevermind the fever (must be viral), nevermind the sore throat (must be viral). When I brought in information about treatment failure rates I was basically dismissed. Ugh. Can you tell I'm frustrated?

 

One of my boys had chronic ear infections from age 1-2, and they repeatedly failed treament. So they tried stronger drugs, and stronger drugs, and finally he had tubes put in his ears. They didn't just label him a carrier.
