Our son is very sensitive to exposure. He's been off abx since mid-may and holding fairly steady. The last two weeks we've seen an uptick in issues, increased OCD, separation anxiety. He wet the bed 2x, and even bit his sister twice. We've suspected possible strep, but were in a "wait and watch" mode, because while there was a backslide, it wasn't as extreme as when he gets strep. We've also totally changed up his summer schedule, with day care, etc, so we thought that might be a factor. Not to mention, I broke my foot at about the same time, so there was a question of "attention getting" since I'm laid up for over 6 weeks. (that's one of the reasons we haven't gotten him checked too - I cant drive so it's been a challenge)

Yesterday, my daughter told me her throat hurt - ugh. She had some water, said it was better-cool. Last night, she woke up complaining, and this morning too - ugh again. Our son had a follow up with Toufexis (in Murphy's office) this morning, I mentioned it. They gave him a 14 day rx of abx to be safe. Meanwhile, across town (my poor retired dad was driving me and my son around!) hubby was at the pediatrician with my daughter - sure enough POSiTiVe!!

He actually gave us a 90 day refill of cefdinir for our son to be safe ( I LOVE that man!).

When I got home, my sons hyperactivity was off the charts. My husband had to go to the church tonhelp with VBS (we obviously kept both kids home), and my poor retired dad was picking up abx. My son was running, jumping off furniture, throwing thongs, running out the door ( he's 3. - not okay) and dancing on the table. All while I'm trying to chase after him on crutches. I don't recommend it!!

Our daughter is typically asymptomatic to strep, so she may have had it this whole time with no symptoms. Our little canary strikes again! I just hope this flare passes quickly, I can't hobble around after him much longer!!

Wow, just realized my iPads auto correct turned "throwing things" into "throwing thongs". Sorry, my son was NOT throwing scanty ladies undergarments around!!

Thanks for all the good wishes!
