I just can't seem to keep myself going the last few days. I am getting another "spell." It seemed after all that blood they took (about 5 vials) on Wednesday I can barely do anything. I get these spells several times a year, sometimes all summer long. This year was bad! It started last summer and lasted until now. I think there were only a few weeks I felt good this year. This morning I slept for an hour while the baby was sleeping and son was watching tv. I am just so exhausted. Any ideas on increasing energy levels? I exercise 3-5 days a week already and don't have much time for more riht now between the 3 kids, housework, dog, and husband. It seems as though I am running on autopilot and only do what is necessary to get through each day. I am not feeling sad or depressed btw, I am happy with my life, etc, except there is just no energy. I know it sounds like CFIDS, and it might be, but I have heard the treatments for that can worsen PANDAS (IF I indeed have that.). I have been on steroids a few times, which has seemed to help get rid of my rashes and such, but it makes me moody and hot-flashy. I also gain more weight.

I have tried everything I can think of: vitamins (even the more expensive powdered kinds), exercise, etc, but nothing seems to help a whole lot. Also, I know I should get some more counseling, as dealing with my ODD12 is really taking a toll, but we go when we can. Are there any natural remedies out there anyone knows of to boost energy that aren't too costly? I am on 2 OCD/anxiety meds right now, so I need to stay away from herbals, which sucks as it pretty much includes anything herbal.

raising PANDAS children is exhausting in itself, but I find something in your post very familiar. Have you been tested for lyme? (I know there is lots of lyme lyme lyme on here) BUT........I struggled since childhood with "moods" as we called them, or tired and sick "spells" as you said. They called it fibromyalgia....then after i had my second kid, i was soooo tired it was not ok, napping a lot, could barely drive sometimes etc.. i kept going back to the doc, and finally she tested me for lyme and it was positive. the physical "trauma" of birth activated it. anyway, thought i'd share just in case. good luck

If you are totally exhausted and rest/sleep doesn't help, I recommend that you get tested for hypothyroidism. It is an easy test for your doctor to run. Unrelenting fatigue was my only symptom and the proper medication helped immensely. Make sure they test for TSH and also for free T3 and free T4 (some labs won't unless you ask for it).

Good luck.

dandd--I was tested for Lyme years back, but they said it was negative. When I went to get my labs, they didn't have it in there, because after a certain amount of time, they throw recs I guess. I have been bitten by many ticks though.

ifran--I have borderline hypothyroidism and am on synthroid for that and the recent labs for that were normal. I have beemn this way since I was a kid. Not sleeping through the night makes it somewhat worse. Dr. T is testoing me along with the kids for PANDAS and other stuff, because I also got severe OCD as a child and have been sick ever since. I think he is doing Lyme and immune tests as well.
