For us, each exacerbation has presented differently...any assortment of the numerous symptoms can lead to a PANDAS diagnosis.

i fully agree with the other posters that tics are not required to be considered pandas . . . but did want to mention that tics are quite a complicated topic .

at the time of ds's onset, i saw eye-blinking one time for 2 seconds. i considered he did not have any movement disorder. as i've learned about tics, i now realize he has done some things that may be considered tics but not overt movements that you'd think of when discussing tics, much more subtle, not really appearing to be a disorder at all -- more that someone very skilled in the observation would catch. there was once a good video clip posted of a woman describing type of tics vs. compulsive movements. if you're interested, i can find it.

W presented with our first exacerbation with no tics whatsoever. It was at the time of his second strep infection that he presented with a tic...he now has 3 total (although only 1 at any given time), and they are all facial movements - which if you didn't know my son or what to look for, you wouldn't identify them as anything unusual...

Thanks for the info ladies! My ODDs movements are strange at times and she makes really strange faces (my mom said I did too as a kid but have learned to hide it somewhat now) so, it would be nice to see the video of tics v compulsive movements:)

I would be really interested in seeing this if it is easy for you to track down.

Thanks,
