How long for tick to transmit Lyme?

Anyone know how long does tick have to be attached to be able to transmit LD? I've read 24-48 hours but not sure if that's accurate.

I have read that the standard line is 24 hours but that people are skeptical and that it could be shorter. Not anything that will ever be studied, so I don't think we'll really ever know.

You may want to read the article I posted in "intro to lyme" thread. It references a 12% chance of infection in the first 24 hrs, then increases thereafter.
